Painting is a language of subtleties. When I work with oil paint and wood, the material is itself and allows me to shape it and to mould it, to become something that I can claim creation to. My conceptions, however loud, begin to speak through form and color in the softest of tones. I love painting because it allows me to show the world the extraordinary that I see in the ordinary, with a fluidity and clarity which words fall short of. I am obsessed with the subtlelty of color and the intimacy of the human form, and have lately been creating large abstractions of the landscapes moulded by my memories.
